PAVILION ŠTVANICE I HONEYCOMB

The first visit of the island of Stvanice evoked mixed feelings in me and my concept of creating a place of connectivity and multifunctionality began to emerge. At first glance, Stvanice island may seem like peaceful and spacious place, but it is used by different communities that are closed off and the connection between them is fading, they use the island only for their personal purposes. The theme for my pavilion has become the city, it symbloizes a kind of symbiosis of communities in one place. My pavilion is divided into 3 sculptures that are supposed to represent the 3 abstracts that the city can offer - nourishment, culture, and panorama. The shape of the pavilion - the honeycomb - represents the symbolism of bee hive working on the principles of the city in nature.
