Chaple of Peace

The Chaple of Peace is situated below Křížová hora, not far from the village of Lbín. This meditation place serves as an escape from the hectic and stressful situations of everyday life. The underground building is located in a forest that has been affected by bark beetles. Part of the design is therefore the afforestation of the surrounding clearing. The building itself is made of shotcrete, which is applied into the space between the soil and the formwork made of wattle and the roots of already felled trees. The visitor will walk through a dark tunnel. At the end of the tunnel awaits him an unusual view of the treetops. He will see them through the roots sticking out of the walls.
