Outdoor Changing Rooms in Libčice nad Vltavou

The concept of the outdoor changing rooms is based on the spatial game "the fifth room". The designed structure had the shape of a regular octagon with an atrium. The dominant feature was the roof, which consisted of eight shed skylights that allowed light to enter the different parts of the building. The changing room building incorporates both of these characteristic elements. The abstract composition of the "fifth room" was split and shifted. The shed skylights, which are not glazed, were rotated to form a seamless row that visually unifies the entire building. The resulting structure is divided into eight individual changing units, which hide a bench and hooks for clothes or towels behind sliding blue doors with mirrors.
