House with a studio for Toyen

Freedom, modesty, solitude, three word which define Czech famous artist Toyen her life and my imagination of house which she would live in. From these three words I came out when I was designing this residence. Connection of intimate and sufficiency of freedom is achieved thanks to hidden garden with atrium thanks to which is garden enlighten by daylight while is hidden from people´s eyes. In the garden is planted tree which grows through the atrium. Crown and branches of this tree support breakage of geometricity of building into form of surrealistic painting. Spatial solution is inspired by loose plan which is perspicuous by free passage through all parts of the house and the garden connected by glass wall with interior. Atelier is enlightened by north light thanks to oblique glass wall.
