Porch glistens with the morning rain that has made the Prague air smell like summer. Hanka, who lives across the street, is picking tomatoes from the balcony and I sit on the terrace with my coffee and savour the atmosphere of Letná's courtyards. The SOMI apartment building is designed on the existing hall in the courtyard at Veletržní 61/63 in Prague 7. The residential building is connected to the load-bearing structures of the hall and its layout responds to the location of the inner city. The SOMI house is divided into three and five storey units. These two units create privacy between them for a common green terrace. Each of the 15 apartments (type 2+kk) also has its own spacious balcony of 12m2, which is lined with tall planters instead of railings.
