Pavilion Štvanice – Scar in the Landscape

Peace and nature in the middle of Prague, a place for relaxation and sport. That is the island Štvanice nowadays. In the past, it was likewise a place for amusement for Prague´s residents, that said it is simultaneously a place, where others experienced less enjoyable time. Whenever those were the wild animals during the chase or the Nubians brought there in the 19th century as a human ZOO for the amusement and education of the locals. My pavilion is like a scar in a calm landscape. It should evoke feelings of distress and imprisonment in a person. At the end of the escalating journey, freedom and outlook are awaiting the visitor. They are within reach, however, remain still unreachable.
