Third tower

The Pigeon House is located on Karlín Square, situated on the axis that runs through the Church of St. Cyril and Methodius. The name alone indicates how closely the tower is connected to the church towers, forming their imaginary silhouette, but in terms of material it contrasts with the towers. The dovecote, as already mentioned, is a silhouette of the towers and to achieve this it is made of one material, it is a wooden building. The tower also serves as a social club for carrier pigeons, the entire first floor is used by the Czech Post Office, both for racing and for the re-establishment and expansion of the pigeon post. This also makes the pigeon loft an educational building for the wider public.
