Klimt Gallery

Anna Havelková

Annotation

Gallery Klimt is designed for Art Nouveau painter, Gustav Klimt. The main inspiration for this object was two paintings, "the kiss" and "the embrace", where Klimt depicts the male habit using basic shapes, mainly rectangles and squares. It creates a certain composition and fluidity that is simple but expressive and distinctive. The gallery is designed to draw the visitor into its surroundings and lead him on some kind of path, along its entire perimeter. The main elements are three cubes that intertwine with each other. They create a smooth gradation. The entrance to the building and the main exhibition space is completely separated, to awaken in the visitor a kind of tension and impatience. Different height levels, between the cubes, are overcome with the help of ramps.
