Vyšehrad - a change of perspective

Šimon Netyk

Annotation

St. Bernard's Bastion has a view of the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul, but also of the rival Prague panorama. The design guides to use both of them independently of each other. On the way you can see the city from above, but the second view is blocked by the building. The viewpoint is laid on nine columns of a rectangular plan. Thanks to their angle they function as blinds. As you pass between them, a view of the neo-Gothic dominant gradually opens up. You go up the staircase to the floor where a wide window frames the view.
