Space 1.11

Annotation

Space 1.11 is the venue for an exhibition of photographs from the dismantled housing estate of Prague's South Town from the 1980s by Jaromír Čejka. The entire building is inspired by the panel system of the OP 1.11 construction system. It is a three-storey exhibition consisting of panels of original dimensions with window cut-outs and a characteristic recessed design that visually separates the individual floors. The space also includes a steep prefabricated staircase, typical of prefabricated houses. The entire space is wrapped in netting, the primary function of which is a safety barrier. The net wrapping creates a connection between period architecture and modern forms, corresponding to the theme of the exhibition.
