Olbram Zoubek Gallery

Matěj Svárovský

Annotation

Olbram Zoubek Gallery is located by two popular pedestrian roads, one of which leads towards the island surrounded by a moat, and the other connects to the main paved asphalt path. The entrance is oriented to the north. The main part of the interior lighting consists of roof skylights due to the purpose of the gallery as a space for exhibiting sculptural works. The windows are designed in such a way that no opening is necessary on the south facade and the interior is well lit at the same time. One of the first ideas was to render the building as an artistic sculpture and avoid a square or rectangular floor plan. In the course of the development of the shape of the object, the shape was gradually simplified and more symmetry was introduced into the plan view.
