Slavín memorial II

The proposed expansion of the Slavín monument increases the capacity of the tomb without compromising its character. Slavín continues to remain the dominant feature of the cemetery. A new underground tomb is accessed through a staircase that follows the shape of the apses found around the cemetery arcades. In its design, the project builds upon the original tomb, but with a careful selection of materials, it propels Slavín forward into the 21st century.
