J. R. R. Tolkien's house

Johana Odvody

Annotation

It is easy to be overwhelmed by light, just as easy to be overwhelmed by darkness. In Tokien's house, however, light meets darkness. In a crowded city, an island of silence is created, a corner of a lonely landscape. The house is formed by four requirements - nature, privacy, society and space for creation - and becomes the epicenter of fantasy. The ground floor consists of a living room with a dining room. It is connected to the exterior through a large window placed so it receives southern light during the day and allows a view of the setting sun in the evening. The ground floor also contains a private part of the house. The studio occupies the entire second floor, it opens up across both floors of the building. It is also connected to a roof garden, located above the private part.
