FAMILY HOUSE

Hoang Quan Trinh

Annotation

The family house, designed to have minimal impact on the surrounding natural landscape, is located on a remote wooded hill in Prague’s Hodkovičky and offers a large enough space for a family of 4. At first glance, one is attracted by the cut openings in the side facades, which are inspired by the silhouettes of tree trunks and thus help the entire building to blend better with the terrain lined with lush vegetation. The front facade is largely glazed in order to maximize the amount of natural light that enters the living spaces, while at the same time there was an effort to connect the interior to the outside world as best as possible. The interior spaces were designed so that family members could spend as much time as possible together without disturbing each other.
