Family house with a private library

Two floors, two spheres, two prisms perpendicular to each other. Four monumental columns and in their centre, as a link between two worlds, a massive concrete staircase. Its volume connects these masses and gives form to a circular skylight in the roof. The square corridor on the second floor circumscribes these identical circles, forming a simple geometric play. The representative atmosphere of the first floor directly contrasts with the private second-story and its vast library. Here, shelves and a dark wood floor return "the warmth of home" to the otherwise grey concrete walls.
