House for Claude Monet

Aleksandra Nikolaeva

Annotation

This project represents a private residential house designed for the famous French Impressionist Claude Monet and his wife. The main idea is to create a space filled with light throughout the day, allowing the artist to create continuously. The main material used in this building is wood, which evokes a pleasant atmosphere of the French countryside and Monet's actual house. Important features of this house include two corridors, one of which is a winter garden with seating, and the other is an open terrace with access to an artificial pond with water lilies. The second floor houses a private family area and the artist's covered workshop. The goal of the project is to connect nature, tradition, and modern urban space.
