Annotation

The path of deeply rooted stone in the ground, since the first moment of mining in the quarry, records the deeds of society, follows history, and preserves it for hundreds, thousands of years. The heavy, chronologically resistant substance comes into conflict with a contrasting material. Tectonics versus telluric. The building is conceptually divided into a massive embedded part in the slope with studios and a wooden structure evoking lightness and pliancy with residential units. The form stems from the quarry and its mining terraces. The studio visitor thus walks the path to the water surface at the very end of the descent through the quarry. In terms of functionality, the substance creates a common space - a courtyard accessible to the public, yet also closed off from Baba.
