The House for Jan Zrzavý

Jan Zrzavý is a significant Czech avant-garde artist, who lived a bohemian lifestyle and had a passion for his interests. His life served as an inspiration for this house, as well as his paintings and the impression they evoke in me. Considering Jan Zrzavý's frequent travels and relocations, I have chosen to prioritize the studio and outdoor spaces over the residential ones. Emphasis is placed on the connection between the interior and exterior, creating a sense of openness. The largest area of the property is dedicated to a garden, which would provide Jan Zrzavý with a space for his additional interests, such as gardening and beekeeping. This outdoor area is designed to reflect his personality and enable him to immerse himself in nature and create within his own environment.
