Temporary housing for refugees

Bao Hien Thai

Annotation

The house is located in Smíchov and thanks to its strategic location it is well connected to the city's infrastructure. The shape of the building is based on its location on a hill - this creates a cascade structure, divided into four floors. There is a cafe on the ground floor, if the weather's good, you can sit on the terrace. There are flats in the remaining three floors. The community space where the residents meet is the cafe and the stairs that go around the house. Considering its temporariness, the house is built of concrete panels, the facade is made from plaster. The interior is designed in concrete and wood. The space not only serves as a refuge, but also encourages integration and provides dignified housing for people who have lost their homes due to war.
