Tower of KAWAKAMI

The family house in the shape of a tower is located in Prague on Petřiny, on the northern slope. This building was created for significant Japanese writer Mieko Kawakami, famous for the work Heaven, and her husband Kazushige Abe, also a famous writer. The floor plan of the building consists of a rectangle of size 7x20m and three rectangles of size 7x7.5m stacked on top of each other. The house is made up of 4 floors, while the underground floor is private, the ground floor is used for meeting of writers with their editors, the first floor has two work places divided by screen, and on the second floor is a balcony with a view of Libocký rybník. The entire building was designed as a space for relaxation, as well for work.
