Lightness. A new approach to sculptures. A way to create voluminous sculptures without using heavy, solid forms. Ever-changing wind patterns. Sheltered and protected yet connected to the endless sky. The gallery is dedicated to the sculptor Janet Echelman, whose journey to becoming an artist was very winding. The gallery visit is meant to be a journey just like that, with three levels of floors confusingly intertwining with winding corridors and views across the levels. The final view belongs to the uppermost room with a colossal circular skylight, surrounded by sofas. A breathtaking destination. A space to pause and observe.
