House for Penelope

Matyas Kotík

Annotation

The object responds to the assignment, the design of the object for the stay of Penelope, especially with a geometric form conceived as basic shapes, regularity, simplicity and purity. In particular, it is a design focused on Penelope's feelings during a long wait and stress, which aims to create a soothing and pleasant space with its minimalism and layout design. The house is through a so-called path that is supposed to represent Odysseus' journey home from the Trojan War with elements of compression and expansion of space. Arrangement of floors according to use, from relaxation on the beach, through a private cozy space on the ground floor, an observation floor with a footbridge, to the open spaces of the walkable roof with a feeling of energy, especially with the Ithaca night sky.
