František Foltýn Gallery

Annotation

In the beginning, František Foltýn was engaged in non-figurative abstract art. The theme of his abstract works was not unambiguous and the observer had to find his own thought and opinion in the pictures, which was their magic. During the second world war, his thinking and worldview changed, which was reflected in his works as he detached himself from his pre-war art and moved to a realistic style. The whole object is inspirated by his abstract works, where there are various geometric shapes along with rounded shapes. The spatial arrangement and desing of the gallery complements the appearance of the painting, thereby creating an interconnected complex. When passing through the exhibition spaces, the style of the interior is changed just like the way of his painting career.
