Baths at the interface

Annotation

We enter the underground thermal baths in Iceland, inspired by Jonas Hallgrimson's 'Drudgery.' The main idea is to showcase the challenging penetration of light into the underground. Descending down an open staircase, we pass through the reception and changing rooms. Ahead of us unfolds the view of the main area, where light through skylights on the pillars creates a dance of shadows, revealing the hidden corners of this cave of relaxation. We continue down the staircase into this magical world, inside of which, in the center, lies a large pool. From its platform, one can enter various small oases. These differently warm and uniquely designed pools offer diverse sensations on our journey to the open atrium, where the space opens up to light quite extensively, completing our exploration.
