SPA IN THE MOUNTAINS

The underground spa is located near the mountain lake Lago di Braies in the Italian Dolomites. The goal was to design a space that feels light yet instills a sense of privacy and serenity. The spa is illuminated by skylights strategically placed to guide the way along the entire length of the corridor. The layout is divided into four main areas. Upon entering the underground space, a well-lit atrium unfolds, featuring the largest skylight that allows views of the trees and sky. The atrium is also equipped with pools with seating options in the water. In the corridor space, there are two separate sections with a total of four pools. At the end of the corridor, there is a seating area that also serves as a skylight. This allows occupants to gaze up at the sky while seated.
