Tribute to Le Corbusier

The proposed building is set in the planned completion of the 4th quadrant of Vítězné náměstí as part of the CTU campus in Dejvice. The project is inspired by the architect Le Corbusier, specifically his 5 points of modern architecture. The gateway, which forms the entry point of the CTU campus, is created by moving the upper layer of the pavilion away, using a minimalist column sequence that also extends into the basement. Ribbon windows circle around all sides of the building and frame the views from the interior to the surroundings. An internal concrete staircase, connecting the basement and ground floor, is complemented by a rectangular opening in the floor that allows natural light to pass through. This distinctive public space serves mainly as an exhibition room for student work.
