Maximally minimal living with a tattoo studio

Matej Martinec

Annotation

There is a small plot of land measuring 6x10m on Štupartská, and therefore my main concept for the house is an expanding floor plan that guarantees maximum use of the space. The design of the apartment building is inspired by well-known Slovak buildings such as the Slovak National Gallery, Hotel Panorama Resort or even Slovenský rozhlas. At the same time, it observes the basic rules of functionalism and socialist realism (use of columns, limiting the balcony view to one direction, etc.). First floor and the floor below it serve as space for a tattoo studio that employs the residents of the apartment building. On the top floor there is a summer terrace with a view of the Týnsky Temple, everything is connected by apartment units with projecting balconies.
