Maximally minimal student housing

Tereza Kahounová

Annotation

right in the historic center of Prague, on the border between Štupartská and Templová Streets, there is a lonely birch on a small plot. in my proposal, however, instead of a tree, student housing grew with an effort to maximize the use of space. therefore, the house expands on the upper floors to the north and west. the residential areas start from the third above-ground floor, there are always two rooms with a common kitchen and a balcony on the floor, which alternate on the floors with an extended glass facade. on the roof, which residents can reach by an outdoor elevator, there is a communal greenhouse out of sight on the doorstep. the community atmosphere is also supported by the tiny cafe on the ground floor, which continues to the gallery via a spiral staircase.
