Threads of Broumov

The Threads of Broumov is located in the middle of Na Hradbách street, in the small town of Broumov. The worldwide reputation of the historical production of Broumov brocade inspired me to design a textile store, with the aim of bringing this unique craft back to life. My second motivation was the tradition of handiworks, such as embroidery and crochet, which have been passed down from mother to daughter for centuries in my family. The building consists of 3 above-ground floors, a basement and an attic, with each floor serving its own purpose: technical facilities, a shop, a craft workshop and the owner's apartment. This project shows how tradition can be revived in a modern way in order to unite a community of people passionate about time-forgotten crafts.
