HOUSE FOR THE HISTORIAN

The historian's house in Podolí under Vyšehrad is designed with a focus on views, especially of the Basilica of St. Peter and Paul. The three-floor structure follows the sloping terrain. The ground floor, for public use, features a glass-walled lecture room connecting the interior with the garden. The first floor houses the historian's study with a library and direct views of the basilica, and access to a terrace. The top floor serves as the living area with a living room, kitchen, pantry, toilet, and main entrance. A spiral staircase connects all floors, leading to the roof's largest terrace. Each floor's terrace provides privacy and comfort. Glass walls on the eastern side offer panoramic views and connect the house with the surrounding landscape and historical landmarks.
