Annotation

The duplex, designed for two painters and their families, is located on a sloping plot on Pod Vyšehradem Street in Prague. Resembling a perforated plate, it blends seamlessly with nearby apartment buildings. Position at street edge, creates a private garden behind it. The building consists of two family homes and a shared studio facing north. Entrence to the homes is through passages leading to the garden. Each house has stairs leading to a shared rooftop terrace. The terrace is hidden by a tall parapet and connected to a rear pathway by a narrow footbridge. The studio is accessible from the garden or rooftop terrace. It has three floors, including a tall-ceilinged room with a gallery. A large spiral staircase outside the main building allows movement within the studio.
