The Peel

The Peel represents a contemporary interpretation of a traditional lighthouse – featuring a directional light on the top floor and a spiral staircase that intuitively guides visitors upward. The concrete facade emphasizes strength and durability, while a section of the wall separates from the whole, creating a dynamic visual contrast. This contrast is not merely an aesthetic element – it is an invitation. An invitation that entices people to enter, explore, and be guided by the light as they ascend the spiral staircase. The peeling of the facade creates space not only for the staircase but also for windows that allow natural light to enter the interior. On the ground floor, where the gallery is located, light pours in through a window that mirrors the shape of the peeled facade.
