Various computer-aided sketch tools can be used to support architectural designing (Tang, Lee, Gero, 2010) either individually in early stage of the process or in communication. We focus on the second mentioned. The goal of this paper is to give an overview of possible applications and mention the platforms which are supported. We explore the advantages or disadvantages of the tools and compare it with our newly developed application called ColLab sketch. With this application we hope in increasing speed and ease of graphic communication on one hand and testing architects demands on the other hand. We develop multiple criteria for evaluating the tools, while believing this paper could be of use to give a hint how to improve remote as well as co-located collaborative designing by sketch. Architectural designing is a very sensitive topic when it comes to sketching. Finally, we would like to compare the newly developed tool to this list and suggest improvements or experiments that help its finalizing.

In the experimental design studio we lead students to accept the problem of sustainability in architecture through awareness of garbage problem of the world also caused by the building industry. In particular, we focus on perceiving garbage as a resource. Through analyses of the garbage topic, discussions, designing and manufacturing prototypes we are trying to broaden students' knowledge of this problem. [1] Furthermore, we believe the physical contact with unusual building material is essential as well as visualization methods used in modeling architecture from garbage. The building potential of waste is large and we are trying to make students develop innovative strategies in the domain of architecture. As a case study we will present results of a collaborative studio partly held in cooperation with ETH Zurich. The task was to visualize daily consumption of PET bottles of the city of Zurich in an architectural way. Two groups of students in Prague and Zurich were experimenting with material as well as computer modeling to deliver a solution in the form of a PET bottle tower. We will describe problems of using PET material as a building material as well as results of this still on-going project.

Anotace
ColLab sketch is an authorised software that supports sketching of architects independently of user expertise and device. It has little amount of functions in order to work as fast as the capacity of data flow on the Internet allows. The target group of users are students of architecture, nevertheless the software is prepared to by used by public. ColLab sketch was presented at conferences in Delft and Newcastle.
