Under the magnifying glass. The look of the SAO President's Award was designed by a design student from the FA

In the framework of cooperation between the Department of Design of the FA CTU and the Supreme Audit Office of the Czech Republic, a competition for the design of the SAO President's Award was held. The author of the winning design was Marie Cikhartová. The prize was first presented and awarded to the winners at the international conference Greening SAIs.

The competition was held this spring and students were invited to design an award that reflected the values of the office –  distance, independence and insight. The submissions were judged by a panel of representatives from the Department of Design and the SAO, who selected three designs in the first round from which prototypes were developed.

Marie Cikhartová, a second-year master's student from the Streit-Polák studio, cleverly incorporated the symbolism of a magnifying glass into her winning design, which represents an exact examination of the state of things. These emerge in detail, the hidden is revealed and the seemingly invisible emerges into lived reality.

The final form of the award was presented during the international Greening SAIs conference held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Authority's establishment in its new Prague headquarters. "Working with SAO was a great opportunity for our students to use their creative and technical skills in a real-world context. We are delighted with the success and look forward to other similar challenges," says Henrieta Nezpěváková from the Department of Design of the FA CTU.
