Course of Urban Economics

The course targets architecture and urbanism students and planning professionals who want to expand their knowledge of urban economics and applied economic analysis of spatial data. It has a scope of approximately 20 hours of teaching divided into two blocks of 3 days and consists of lectures, practical seminars, discussion, individual consultation, and two informal evening meetings. The lectures are supplemented by practical exercises using the open-source statistical software R.

The course lecturer is Ing. architect Lukáš Makovský, M.A., Ph.D., who currently works at the Institute of Real Estate and Planning at the University of Reading. Lukáš Makovský is a graduate of FA CTU and applied economics at CERGE-EI. He also worked at IPR Prague and Deloitte CR.
