prof. Ing. arch. Irena Šestáková

Vice Dean for Development and Construction, Deputy Head of the Department of Building Theory, Head of the Studio Šestáková - Dvořák

After completing her studies at the Czech Technical University in Prague, she completed a one-year internship at the Department of Theory and Development of Architecture at the CTU in Prague. Since 1991 she has been a companion in the Studio Šesták and since 1993 she has been a member of the Czech Chamber of Architects. She joined the CTU FA as an assistant professor in the studio of doc. Karel Fořtl in 1992. Since 2004 she has been running her own studio (with Ondřej Dvořák) focused mainly on buildings for social services. In 2003, she took over the teaching of barrier-free building solutions. She focuses on environmental accessibility and social inclusion. In 2006 she was appointed associate professor and in 2014 professor of architecture.
