HOUSEHOLD FURNISHINGS

The main theme of my Diploma Thesis is design for a Vacuum Coffee Maker, so called Vacuum Pot or Vacuum Siphon. The elaboration of this topic was prompted by a research project focused on coffee preparation methods, which showed that bartenders and coffee lovers appreciate this method for its resultant coffee quality. Nevertheless, the current choice seemes to be very monotonous and repeats numerous impractical elements with a potential for improvement. Vacuum Pot excels in coffee preparation by its “wow” effect. It works on a simple physical principle of water steam overpressure, when the water flows from one container to the other, producing high-quality extracted coffee. My aim was to design modern sleek appearance, to simplify shapes, number of parts, even the number of materials used, so the product becomes cheaper and reflects the potential of successive industrial production. The resultant product is a coffee machine for coffee preparation at home or elsewhere for two or more persons.
