THE REVITALISATION OF HOTEL STROJAŘ PŘEROV AND NEW CULTURAL CENTRE

This work presents an adaptation of the former hotel Strojař in Přerov and revitalisation of its surroundings. Strojař was built in 1967 using prefab panels. The building is a city property and is not being used at the moment. The design proposes new use of the building, as apartments for young, families and elderly. By splitting the interior spaces into two towers, the flats were extended by the unused parts of the corridors. The damaged balconies were replaced by a new structure. In the design, the restaurant building includes a new cafe and a garden centre. The new library building is placed next to the restaurant and creates a relaxation zone in between the buildings. There are also other new public spaces in the proposal, such as community garden and a market area next to it.
