SHOPPING STREET - SMÍCHOV

The subject of the diploma thesis is an examination of the possibility of creating viable shopping district in brownfield area of railway station Smíchov in connection to the Radlická Valley. The aim of the design is to create a structure that would be based on the short distance city principle, that favours pedestrians as well as cyclists. This layout should intensify density, multifunctionality and blending all of urban functions and activities. At the same time it meets the standards for technological service and allows as much flexibility as possible.
