PEC POD SNĚŽKOU RAILWAY STATION

The design of the new railway station in Pec pod Sněžkou is set in the project of the extension of the railway route in Úpské Valley in the Krkonoše Mountains from year 2009. It shows the possibilities of solving the current problem with ever-increasing tourism and hence car transportation in mountain areas. Almost the entire route is in the tunnel and therefore the station itself is set on a slope. The mass is designed as a simple transport structure hidden as much as possible in the terrain, but at the same time open enough to provide enough clear orientation and outlook. Connected public space and a bus stop together with a new interconnection of the station by means of footbridges are part of the design.
