PELHŘIMOV - URBAN STUDY

Pelhřimov is a town, whose historical center is protected as an urban heritage reservation. However, the structure of some parts of the town neighbouring to the preservation area is spoiled. This diploma thesis is an urban study aimed at transformation of some of the spoiled locations with specific regard to the network of roads and paths within the town and its immediate surroundings. As a result, a design involving transformation of public spaces and building volumes, orientation of the buildings towards public spaces and design of their functional use is presented. Roads and paths together with their (sometimes perished) tracks and directions are used as a tool for the designs, symbolizing connection.
