BETWEEN THE TRACKS

The thesis aims to find an optimal use for the area of Mezitratí. The area is surrounded by train tracks on all sides and is hard to access. Despite good transport connections and proximity to the centre of Prague the potential of the area is not used. Due to higher noise levels from the trains it is suitable for manufacturing and production industry. The design seeks to answer the question of how to integrate the function of production into the structure of the city in such a way that it is beneficial for its surroundings. At the same time it combines production with other functions to create a result that has good urban qualities.
