MATERNITY CENTRE IN HANSPAULKA

The subject of the diploma thesis is the design of a maternity centre as an alternative of environment for natural physiological childbirth. This typology has not been put into practice in the Czech Republic yet, in contrast to abroad, where this form of medical facility is common. The maternity centre offers mothers an intimate atmosphere, a familiar environment, and a sense of security. It is also a community and educational centre for families before and after childbirth. The assigned plot is in Prague in Hanspaulka on a gentle slope, where is a new residential development for the future planned.
