Annotation

Creation of nonexisting space for complex presentation of the aboriginal culture was the task of this project. The cultural center is situated in the center of Australia. The form of the house is inspired by the aboriginal lifestyle under the sky so the house is opened to the landscape. Landscape is sacred for the aboriginese so the house is built on stilts and hardly touches the ground. Sustainability was very important aspect because of the remotnes of the site which is thousands of kilometers far from cities and material has to be delivered by trucks. I wanted to eliminate the heavy technology and wanted to make the house „light“ It‘s conceived as a puzzle which is brought to the place in peaces and put together on site. It can be taken apart and the landscape stays undamaged.
