Landscape Architecture, Bachelor Project

Annotation

The aim of the project is transforming a previously inaccessible area into the public space available for the local citizens of Terezín. The unused and fenced area behind Magdeburg barracks has been long vacant. Magdeburg garden is a place intended for relax and gaining new energy. The project counts with the cultural events and with the restoration work in the garden made available for the public to see which is related to the current function of the Magdeburg barracks. Restoration of the relics of the 20th century shows citizens and tourists a whole new viewpoint on this undervalued craft. In the area in front of the façade of the barracks is located a lightweight construction with a clear historical reference and position. It works as a café which allows visitors to drink a good coffee and at the same time the façade of the café can be used for screening short documents and films during warm summer evenings.
