Annotation

The thesis presents a comprehensive view of the possibilities for the future development of existing and future urban gardens, as an unjustly neglected type of spatial structure in the city. The thesis deals with the anchorage of urban gardens in the city, the way of looking at them as public space and public green space. It describes the basic typology and possibilities of integration, relationships with other urban structures and spatial typologies. The thesis consists of three units. At the beginning, existing gardening settlements are described on the scale of the whole of Prague, then the second book - a manual through a clear guide describes the approach to urban gardens through the lens of different actors. The manual also introduces the concept of urban garden into the Czech environment as a broader set for collective gardening activities in urban settings, thus broadening the scope beyond gardening settlements to other contemporary forms. The third book shows the possibilities of applying the manual to the model area of Veleslavín in Prague.
