THE SCHOOL OF NEW MEDIA FOR JEDLICKUV USTAV, PRAHA-PODOLI

The aim is to add new study programm for schools of Jedlicka Institute: New Media,containing music, drama, printing and movie. The building should also contain other functions like social services, café,cinema, multifunctional hall and space for free time. The site is located on Podolské nabřeží near Vlatava river,close to Vyšehrad and other building of Jedlicka Institute. My aim was to save as much from the former park as possible, so i move some of the trees and grass on roof and teracces and i was also trying to design school comfortable to use by disabled children. The shape of the building was formed by the shape of the site. The main motive is wooden roof on teracces and wooden fading panels, which kontrast with simple design of the building. There is a wooden cladding on the building and aluminium Windows frames. The school have two floors, on the third floor there is only small space for wellness and two roof teracces. The site is in a slope so the east part is partly under the terrain.
