HOSPICE VINOHRADNÍ

A place where one of the life’s most powerful stories takes place – the passing of a man. The new hospice building is located in the garden of Stojanov in Velehrad, which aims to blend in with its surroundings in a non-violent way. To be part of it, but not to stand out. The stepped mass respects the rising terrain, using its levels on all floors to connect with the garden, which is complemented by a flat section for immobile patients on the roof level, or atria embedded in the mass of the hospice. The aim of this project is to create a functional and spatial design of the hospice with a safe space for patients, their loved ones and staff and to create a calm and dignified environment where hospice patients can be accompanied by their loved ones through the last days of their lives.
