VRŠOVICKÁ HOUSING

A living in the city, close to the city centre and yet not far from the suburbs or rural areas thanks to easily reachable train connection. The site – located next to quite a busy street reminds of a waste ground, but if you look a bit closer you find the park Grébovka and a small stream Botič, both promising. My thesis seeks alternative to mainstream housing development (which has surprisingly not yet taken advantage of the potencial of this site). I am looking into non-profit dwelling conceptions instead of probing the most common two options of either development projects or social housing. I have been repeatedly focused on a group of people which as I would imagine wishes to live in a city and yet perceives togetherness and building community as a cornerstone of their lives. In this particular project I am further examining what it means to live grandly.
