Trutnov: City Centre Revitalisation

The subject of my diploma thesis is the city centre revitalisation of Trutnov which is a developping centre of the region under Giant Mountains in the North-East of Bohemia. The town is equiped with facilities of regional importace and its identity of cultural centre of the region is succesfully expanding. In the future the higher attractivity of this lokality is expected together with the connection to Czech and Polish highways. The area of the project is situated in the lower part of the town centre close to the square náměstí Republiky and it is bordered with the embancment of the river Úpa, the historic centre and the industrial area with the brewery. This project is aimed to support the urban character of the selected area, to create the attractive space at the square náměstí Republiky as the counterbalance to the historical square Krakonošovo náměstí, to vitalize the compactness of the centre especialy in the main walking paths and last but not least to increase the attractiveness of the town centre for living there while at present living in the centre is decreasing.
